Poi E is a classic NZ song. Even though it's from the 1980s, the video still gets decent play on network TV.
And it's just straight-up fun and catchy. I DARE you to not smile while watching this.
The song's history is here, if you're interested.

I watched this wonderful video at 6:30 Sunday morning. Had a big cup of coffee. I'm ready to take on the day.
How inspiring. How beautiful. Makes me thankful.
I loved it. Those of us who are old enough to remember the 1980s well, will see the influences of that time in it. However, the inspiration and music is still very current for today. It made me feel good to watch it. Thank you for sharing it.
Simon and Garfunkle did a similar thing in Rhythm of the Saints with African and Brazilian native music...a beautiful composition. Poi-E is similar. The native musical roots give new energy and meaning to our modern music culture. Poi-E!
Thanks Allie,lovely song,very enjoyable rhythm.
