In the midst of our adventuring the other day, we stumbled into a street fair of sorts. There was free candy floss (that's cotton candy to the Yankees; surprisingly, both boys found it completely off-putting), live music, an acrobat show, and a face painting booth. Amiri immediately and passionately begged to be painted and plumped right down in the seat.
"I want to be a cat," he said. "A white cat."
And so the artist set to work.
It tickled at first but he sat perfectly still and was oh so patient.
She put on the white base first...
...and then started adding the details.
The finished product! Look how satisfied and proud he is.
We then released our beast to roam in his native habitat. Notice his fearsome domination of the landscape. This is not some pampered housecat, no sir. He's a white tiger!

Cotton candy is really over-puffed up anyway. And it gets sticky all over your face and hands when you eat it.
Amiri looks so purrr-fectly happy as a white tiger! How long did it take before he was transformed back into a little boy?
Allie, I love the pansies you put up as your background picture.
Love you all so much! God bless.
Good job Amiri! I wonder what kind of animal Arram would have opted for if he had face painting done? Hmm...
Saima
Grandpa can almost hear his growling...
Tiger, Tiger, burning bright! In the forests of the night. What Immortal hand or eye dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
Hugs to my fierce white kitty cat!
What an adventurous spirit! Now I wonder where he got that? Ha! Very cute and so much fun to see him cavorting about!
Do you take the header photos? Nice!
Love and hugs from Auntie Kathie
With his singing ability, he could be great in the musical, Cats. I am very impressed with his ability to sit so quietly while they did his character. Again, good skills for a future in theater.
Auntie Kathie-- they're all mine, taken on my fancy camera phone!
Mom-- I've always liked that line and thanks to you had the inspiration to spend a few nice minutes with Blake today.
Saimie Auntie-- Arram adamantly refused to sit down, but I asked him later what he would have wanted. He smiled shyly and said, 'Turtle!' Much like the Tyger, this would surely have been no pond-splashing shelly; I believe he was envisioning a recent episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Aunt McKenzie-- I believe he'd have a certain flair for the stage. Something to encourage in a few years.
Auntie Dianne-- He carefully kept his paint perfect until bedtime. Then he got to use one of Mama's special makeup wipes to clean up, all by himself.
Oh, so those pix are your very own touch, well , lovely glimpses for us!!! Glad Amiri turned back into a little boy b4 bed!!
