Ducks look like they are always smiling. Baby ducks follow their Mum everywhere she goes. Ducks float and swim on the water. They even make happy sounds. There is everything to like about ducks!
I love ducks because it feels like they are tickling you when you feed them. When we were kids, the ducks would tickle our feet when we feed them. When we had chickens, the chickens would peck our feet when we fed them and it hurt. Ducks are so much nicer.
We had a pair of ducks years ago, years and years actually. Donald and Gretta. Donald was very protective of Gretta. Gretta seemed proud of Donald. The pair made quite a racket when they were commenting on some perceived outrage in their pen.
Anthropomorphism? I guess so, but they were a cute couple.
