Up near Whangapararoa (Maori for 'bay of whales') is the nice beach of Army Bay. We sat in the soft grass above the sand and had a little lunch and a little look around.
Over to the left was this massively gnarled tree. I used a similar photo to this as my header image for about ten minutes when I re-started blogging last month.
And to the right there were cliffs. Because how can you have a beach without cliffs?
And in the middle there were sailboats.
And then the sailboats all came ashore-- it was a sailing school, and we got to watch them up close!

Thank you Allie for another beautiful beach adventure!
Your beach and ocean pictures are beginning to become familiar to me! I can almost imagine being there with the wind blowing in my face and a hardy, har, har as I go sailing along...
That gnarly old tree is quite a picturesque punctuation for such a beautiful though stark setting!
Love the video clip and hearing the voices of you all there! Thanks! Amazing luck to have a school right there!!
