The duck pond

Down the street and past the playground is the Duck Pond.  I'm sure it's got a proper name, and the little sign by the dock tells me that it's a stormwater catchment feat of engineering, but it'll always be the Duck Pond to me.

It's just so lovely and peaceful.

We're not supposed to throw food in the water (although surely the billions of minnows in there would love it), but there's nothing that says we can't feed the ducks while they're still on the grass.

I guess sometimes it's not so much a duck pond, as a pukeko pond.

I agree: your ducky pukeko pond looks so tranquil. I love the picture of the dock and stairs bordered with foliage leading to adventure.

Oh and by the way I enjoy your new header picture of a happy Pohutukawa flower. If I could learn the difference between a Pohutukawa and a Rata, I'd be glad to share a chocolate fish with you!

What a wonderful experience to have birds around to watch and enjoy!! And interact with when feeding them!!
