Allie, I’ve been meaning to comment for some time…
Your blog is wonderful on at least three levels.
Most importantly, it serves to keep all of us closer to you (plural). You four are so far away physically, but with the blog, you feel much closer. Thank you for that. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
It also serves to educate and entertain us about the new cultures and events you are experiencing. ANZAC biscuits, Poi-E, gumboots, kiwis and Kiwis, wetas, innumerable fruits and fish, etc., and interesting peeks into daily life on a south-Pacific island. It’s like the best-of-all-possible travel shows, hosted by the 4 people we viewers love most.
And finally, it is immensely pleasurable to read. You know of some of my favorite writers and how much delight I derive from savoring how they form their sentences. Well, I love the way you write. I haven’t said it enough, but so many of your blog entries are miniature works of art. You pack so much meaning into them by using just the right phrase. When you described Amiri working on his sushi rolls at school, “just so”, I could see his little hands trying so hard and his concentration.
Anyway, this qualifies, no doubt, as longest ever comment, but I’m so impressed.
For the Mother's Day wishes (right back at you, Mom and Mom), and for your kind words, Dad. I enjoy sharing our lives with you, and I like that I get to do a little creative writing along the way. Very pleasing/ satisfying to know it's being savored. Love you all.

I love the Mother's Day Cards! Happy Mother's Day, Allie! I love you!
Are those by any chance some of Adnan's chicken sausages you mentioned when we called?
I can almost hear them sizzling.
And let me add my, "Happy Mother's Day" to your mom's wishes, Honey.
Oh, and I like the NZ spelling on Amiri's card of Mummy. So sweet.
