A fine way to start the new year

Here's what we've done this year so far:
--We all rang in the New Year whilst asleep; just shows you what kind of party animals we are.  Apparently there were noisy fireworks at midnight but I, personally, was unaware of this.

--Coffee and playtime (which was something about hammerhead sharks... I don't know all the details...but it involved pillowcases over their heads so you know it was serious).

--Skype with our Aunties over breakfast.

--A nice walk down the street.

--Couch fort-building.

--A trip to the beach off Pt Chev with our neighbours.  Back home when Arram's teeth started to chatter.

--Lunch was a selection from among peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, duck confit, and paneer makhani over rice.

--Chatting with friends.

--Precision bike-riding on the patio.

--Toasting of hides in the warm sun of the backyard, amidst pretend ice-cream and hot-dog truck industry.

--Measuring:  Amiri is 116 cm and Arram is 104 cm.

--Into the splash pool.  Squirt gun fun.

--Mama brought out a basin with rose-scented water and attempted to give herself a pedicure in the sun.  Two boys suddenly also needed pedicures and demanded that Mama make room for their feet too.  The water got full of grass and mud and had to be changed.

--Break for a mac 'n' cheese snack.

--Later we'll watch Snow White and OOOOOH it'll be so scary!
Not bad, not bad at all.  It's been a full day, especially when you consider that the ball hasn't dropped yet in New York.

Man, you were really busy on that day! Fred and I were not nearly as ambitious as all of you. I loved seeing the fun in the sun of your day.

What a totally excellent way to bring in your New Year! I'm so glad that Auntie Kathie and I could join you for coffee and breakfast as you prepared for the non-stop activities of the day.

You had some pretty exotic lunch choices too! I like more familiar stuff and enjoyed some mac n cheese for dinner at maybe about the same time you were having your snack! Except that... you were in the FUTURE! Oy vey! my head hurts with this time warp stuff! :)

Sounds like it was a very exciting day! We didn't do quite as much....cooked a homemade pizza roll and watched some TV, but when the NYC ball dropped, it was still only 9pm by us! Darn those time zones. Can't imagine being that far ahead in time! lol
