Allie vs. the firecrackers

We went to dinner last night at the restaurant on the corner with the elephant on the sign, Monsoon Poon. They serve cuisines from all over southeast Asia. The kitchen is open and right in the center of the restaurant, and there are mirrors so that you can watch the chefs preparing your meal.

The first Monday of the month is the Firecracker Club night. You get all-you-can-eat Firecracker Chicken for a special price. So I ordered that, of course. It's big chunks of dark meat, wok-fried with vegetables and a Malaysian chili sauce. So good, and so spicy. That must be their secret... sure, it's all you can eat, but you won't be able to eat that much since your mouth will be on fire. Luckily, I found that the heat was short-lived, and with ample amounts of tandoori naan, I got my money's worth.

Amiri ate well, too: five shrimp, several handfuls of chili-lime cashews, some rice, and some bread. Arram also shared the rice and bread. Mmm-mm.
