Testing the new technology

I took a walk today with the aim of making it to Western Park in Ponsonby, two suburbs over. I chose not to carry the bulky camera along with me, instead taking the opportunity to learn how to use my new camera phone on the way. There was a photography exhibit set up in Waitemata Plaza.

Kids were playing soccer in Victoria Park.

And the flowers are blooming in Myers Park.

And then I TOTALLY got lost and didn't even make it out of the CBD, let alone anywhere near Ponsonby. I guess my sense of direction is only trustworthy when streets are on a grid system. Using the Sky Tower as a landmark, I meandered my way to the city library where I got two books for Amiri (ABCs and huggy bunnies), and from there I made it home.

But my phone is a workable option for pictures, at least I figured that out! Decent resolution, even if the focus isn't as crisp as I'd like.
